Among the 5 most important competitions in Spain

 

The city of Andújar, with a great equestrian tradition, has been the first city in the province of Jaén that has joined the competition circuit of ANCCE (National Association of Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders).

For these reasons, the Anducab Morphological-Functional Competition has been held since 2004, which has managed to consolidate itself as one of the 5 most important competitions in Spain, scoring for the competition in the International Horse Show (SICAB), which is held every year in Seville. Since its inception, the Horse Fair of Andújar has been held in the Colón Park, which has adapted and improved its infrastructure to accommodate this great event.

Anducab, first fair of the province of Jaén dedicated exclusively to the horse, constitutes the most important meeting point of the main cattlemen, amateurs and professionals of the world of the horse of the province of Jaén and bordering. It gathers exhibitors and visitors coming mainly from Jaén, from the rest of Andalusia and from other regions of Spain, although lately prestigious farms come from abroad. In the last edition of the contest, livestock from Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community, Murcia, Extremadura and Andalusia have been present, with the assistance of studs from other countries such as Guatemala, the United Kingdom or the USA.

The main objective of this type of event is the exhibition, marketing and sale of all kinds of products related to the horse world. With this type of events, the province of Jaén, and specifically the town of Andújar has established itself as the benchmark of Eastern Andalusia in the world of the horse, since we should not forget the importance that the Pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Cabeza has had and has in the large equine cabin of our region. Thus, Anducab is considered a great boost for the equestrian sector of the city, with great roots for its historical link to the Pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Cabeza.

The number of registered visitors each year revolves around 20,000, increasing this figure in each edition of the contest. Although the visitors are generally amateurs, the objective is to increase the number of exhibitors and professionals in the sector. Also, we must underline the importance of the event in terms of competition. As mentioned above, this is an official test with an international category that is included in the calendar of the National Association of Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders (ANCCE) and that is scoring for the International Horse Show (Sicab) of Seville.

 

During the days of the contest, Andújar shows off his equine tradition by offering neighbors and visitors the best spectacle of the Spanish horse.
